Content creator and social commentator, Daniel Regha, has called for restraint in the public reaction to the sexual-offence case involving Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee.

Regha, reacting to comments circulating on social media, particularly those focusing on the alleged lifestyle of the woman connected to the controversy, argued that a person’s occupation or lifestyle should not be used as a basis for dismissing an allegation of sexual misconduct.
He maintained that every individual is entitled to have allegations concerning them properly examined, regardless of their background or how they choose to live.
In a post shared on social media, Regha said:
“Poco Lee’s case involving a sexxx worker doesn’t give anyone right to dismiss the case. I see a lot of comments using the accuser’s lifestyle to downplay the seriousness of the situation.
“Everyone has rights, regardless of what they do or how they choose to live. We Nigerians actually need to learn that the fact that a lot of things are overlooked here doesn’t mean it’s normal.
“Let’s hope Poco Lee is innocent, and the law takes its course.”
Regha’s intervention comes amid heightened public interest in the case involving Poco Lee, who is currently facing sexual-offence proceedings in the United Kingdom.
Recent reports indicate that the entertainer has been charged with five sexual offences and is being held on remand ahead of further proceedings at Snaresbrook Crown Court. He has not been convicted of any offence, and the allegations remain matters for determination through the judicial process.
The controversy has also been fuelled by separate allegations made publicly by Nigerian-born US-based rapper Ms Jorji, who alleged that Poco Lee attempted to sexually assault her and a female friend during an encounter in Dallas, Texas, in 2024.
However, the allegation made by Ms Jorji is separate from the UK proceedings, and there has been no established connection between her account and the charges before the UK court. Her claims have also not been independently established by a court.
Meanwhile, Afrobeats star Burna Boy has publicly expressed support for Poco Lee, saying the entertainer contacted him after his arrest and that he had begun making efforts to assist him.
Burna Boy said:
“Poco Lee contacted me to inform me of his arrest.
“I immediately began reaching out to my contacts in the UK yesterday; I was not in the country at the time. It is deeply distressing to see Poco Lee in this situation. I am currently in the UK, and the matter is under active investigation.
“Based on the information available to me, I believe Poco Lee is innocent. He did not commit the alleged offense. Poco Lee has always shown me immense respect and loyalty. I can’t remain silent while he goes through this.
“We are working diligently toward securing his release, and I am confident that we will achieve it by tomorrow.
“I am fully committed to seeing this matter through to its conclusion.”
Burna Boy’s comments, however, represent his personal position and should not be construed as a determination of the case.
Poco Lee’s management and legal team have similarly urged the public and media to exercise restraint, stressing that allegations should not be treated as proof of guilt and that the matter should be determined through due process. The team has also cautioned against introducing claims that are not part of the proceedings.
As the case progresses, Regha’s comments have renewed a wider conversation about how society responds to allegations of sexual misconduct — particularly when the credibility or lifestyle of an alleged victim becomes the focus of public debate.
For now, the facts that can properly be established are that Poco Lee is facing legal proceedings in the UK and has not been convicted. The allegations against him remain to be tested in court.
The outcome of the judicial process, rather than social-media commentary or the opinions of supporters and critics, will ultimately determine the legal position in the case.
