Japan-based businessman and husband of Nollywood actress Nkiru Sylvanus, Riches Sammy, has issued a strong warning to individuals spreading what he described as false and misleading narratives about his marriage, threatening legal action against anyone who continues to do so.
His reaction follows the circulation of a photograph of the actress on social media, which has sparked speculation among some online users after portraying her looking older and seemingly unhappy.
Breaking his silence, Riches Sammy dismissed the viral image as unrepresentative of his wife’s true appearance, insisting that people should stop drawing false conclusions about the state of their marriage based on the photograph.
He expressed displeasure over captions accompanying the image, saying they were designed to mislead the public and cast his marriage in a negative light.
In a strongly worded statement, he said:
“A picture that does not represent what my wife looks like has been circulating online recently.
“I might choose to overlook that and all the comments being made. But what I will not tolerate is someone making a derogatory or misleading caption about my marriage. I will take legal action, so be warned.”
The warning comes amid growing concerns over the spread of manipulated images and misleading narratives on social media, particularly involving celebrities and public figures.
Riches Sammy and Nkiru Sylvanus tied the knot in a colourful traditional and white wedding ceremony in January 2023, and the actress has largely kept details of their marriage away from the public spotlight.
