Following the recent Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas reconciliation meetings, of the various aspirants both in Chairmanship and Councilorship positions, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State officially present flags to all Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates across the 57 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.
The party yesterday at ACME road, Ikeja, handed over flags to the various Chairmen and their Deputies, thereby ending the confusion of who flies the Party’s flag at the July local government election, thereby setting the stage for Flag presentations across the State
Earlier in Ifelodun LCDA, just like any other LCDA and LGA, the APC Reconciliation Committee, led by Mutiu Are, Secretary of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), during a crucial reconciliation meeting held at the Chairman’s Chamber, called on all former Chairmanship aspirants in Ifelodun LCDA, to put aside personal grievances and work in full support of the party’s consensus candidates, Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo and Adetoun Ojora Adejiyan as Chairman and Vice Chairman.
With this event, the re-election bid of Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo as Executive Chairman and Adetoun Ojora-Adejiyan as Vice Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA for a second term was sealed.
In Ajeromi Ifelodun’s constituency 02, it was a rowdy reception for both Olamilekan Akindipe Olu, aka Lampholder, and his deputy, Bola Annetie, and Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo and Adetoun Ojora Adejiyan at Oguniyi through Mosafejo as their convoy motorcade caused no little traffic jam.
The event, which witnessed a large turnout of party faithfuls, supporters, and stakeholders, was a clear reaffirmation of the end of further skirmishes on the 2025 Chairmanship issues across the state.
In Alayabiagba area of Ajeromi, the 10 Community Development Associations had Tuesday morning, while Olamilekan had gone to receive the party’s flag, mobilized the crowd in sensitization throughout the breadth of Ward A, and decorated the area with several banners of the party’s candidate.
Ganiu Ibrahim, the Anthony Agbaje CDA Chairman, said, ” It is surprising the way God works because Lampholder for more than 20 years, selflessly contributed to the development of our area, and now people are willingly and joyfully contributing to make available campaign materials in support of him as the party candidate.
The National Unions unit Chairmen from the area, Alhaji Maja and Nuru, had taken a long street which they decorated with posters of Lampholder.
