The publication of candidates’ particulars by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has injected fresh momentum into the political contest for the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency, with supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate, Hon. (Dr.) Oladipupo Wilson Diriwari, declaring that “the conversation has changed.”
In a statement issued on behalf of the PDP flagbearer, the campaign described INEC’s release of candidates’ credentials as more than a routine electoral procedure, saying it signals the beginning of a decisive phase in the race for representation at the National Assembly.
According to the statement, residents of Ajeromi-Ifelodun are increasingly demanding leadership that is accessible, accountable, and responsive to the needs of the people, adding that the forthcoming election presents an opportunity for voters to choose a representative capable of delivering effective legislative representation.
The campaign projected Diriwari as a candidate with the experience, competence, and vision to champion the constituency’s interests, insisting that his political agenda is anchored on service, accountability, legislative excellence, and sustained engagement with constituents beyond election periods.
As political activities gather pace across the constituency, the statement appealed to youths, traders, artisans, transport workers, market women, professionals, religious leaders, traditional institutions, and other residents to remain actively involved in the democratic process and contribute to shaping the constituency’s future.
The campaign further stressed that meaningful development in Ajeromi-Ifelodun would require unity of purpose, constructive engagement, and collective commitment from all stakeholders, maintaining that sustainable progress can only be achieved through responsible leadership and active citizen participation.
With electioneering expected to intensify in the coming weeks, political observers say the contest for the Ajeromi-Ifelodun House of Representatives seat is gradually emerging as one of the most closely watched races in Lagos, as parties continue to position their candidates and mobilise support ahead of the polls.
The statement was signed by Engr. Adedoyin Wasiu, Strategic Communications and Media Assistant to Hon. (Dr.) Oladipupo Wilson Diriwari, the PDP candidate for the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency.
