….Ifelodun sports fraternity endorses Hon Okeowo’s second tenure
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Executive Committee of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has unanimously endorsed the Executive Chairman, Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, for a second term in office ahead of the 2025 local government elections.
At a meeting held today, the party leadership, led by the LGA Party Chairman, Mr. Olalekan Babalola, commended Mayor Okeowo’s exceptional performance, visionary leadership, and steadfast dedication to the sustainable development of Ifelodun LCDA. The EXCO highlighted the administration’s remarkable achievements across critical sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social welfare, noting that these strides have significantly improved the quality of life for residents and positioned the council as a model of good governance.
Speaking during the endorsement, Mr. Babalola emphasized that the decision was founded on merit and was a testament to Mayor Okeowo’s unwavering commitment to the ideals of APC and progressive governance.
“There is no vacancy in Ifelodun LCDA. Mayor Okeowo has set a standard of leadership that deserves continuity. Our endorsement today is a reflection of the people’s trust and our collective resolve to consolidate on the gains achieved under his stewardship,” he stated.
In his remarks, Mayor Okeowo expressed profound gratitude to the party leadership, members, and the entire Ifelodun community for their unflinching support. He pledged to redouble his efforts in driving further development and delivering even greater dividends of democracy if given the mandate to serve a second term.
The APC leadership also announced that the party primaries for the 2025 Local Government Elections are scheduled to be held on May 10, 2025, affirming that their endorsement of Mayor Okeowo positions him as the party’s preferred choice ahead of the primary and the general election.

In a separate development, at a meeting held today, the sports leadership of Ifelodun LCDA, led by the LGA Sports Chairman, Mr. Alhaji Wasiu, commended Mayor Okeowo’s exceptional performance, visionary leadership, and steadfast dedication to the sustainable development of Ifelodun LCDA.
Speaking during the endorsement, Mrs. Oshodi, the HOD of the Agric Department, emphasized that the decision was founded on merit and was a testament to Mayor Okeowo’s unwavering commitment to the ideals of the APC and progressive governance.
