Recalling his Political journey,Hon Mutiu said;  I started my political journey at the then Ojo LGA, then we migrated to Ajeromi under Ojo Local Government where I contested the position of a councilor  under the Zero party.

At Ajeromi , we pledged to be with the DPN then  with the party chairman Dr Abiola Ajijola. I was part and parcel of the success of the campaign then, but was advised to step down  for Femi Adejumoh, which I obliged to the leaders of the party.

Then  came the era of Alliance for Democracy, I aspired again and was advised to step down again for  Owolabi Kareem, the councilor of ward H then.

In 2003, when we came to Ifelodun LCDA, the  party leaders unanimously agreed to adopt me as the councillorship aspirant and I held on twice as the councilor. After my second term as councilor, I contested for  the Lagos State House of Assembly.

I served as a Committee Chairman on  Health and emerged as as Deputy leader of the council in my second tenure . I am proud  as I am regularly being updated that the legislative council we bequeathed  is still carrying on from where we stopped.

Hon Fatai relocated to the USA 2015 after he was denied the chance of representing his constituency at the Lagos State House if Assembly, though he has continued to be actively involved in the activities of the ruling party since he left the country
