Ahead of film’s November 21 cinema release, initiative to train and discover new talents
In preparation for the November 21 nationwide cinema release of Safari, the producers of the film have announced a series of film workshops and open auditions to be held across major Nigerian cities.
The initiative, tagged “Safari Workshop Roadshow / Open Auditions,” aims to train aspiring filmmakers and actors in the fundamentals of film production. It will also serve as a platform to identify emerging talents for future collaborations with The Nollywood Factory (TNF), producers of The Mirror Boy, Last Flight to Abuja, and other notable titles.
Scheduled to hold between November 10 and 20, the workshops will take place in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, featuring sessions led by seasoned industry professionals including Obi Emelonye, Osas Ighodaro, and Tunde Babalola.
According to a statement by The Nollywood Factory, interested participants are encouraged to register for the programme by completing an online form available on the official Safari website. The training is designed to provide participants with hands-on learning opportunities, behind-the-scenes exposure, and industry networking experiences.
Safari, filmed across locations in Lagos, Abuja, Nairobi, and Mombasa, follows the story of the disillusioned wife of a Nigerian politician who becomes entangled with a local beach worker accused of murder during a vacation in Kenya.
Eight years in development, the film stars Osas Ighodaro, Ali Nuhu, Jide Kene Achufusi, Ken Ambani, Emmanuel Mugo, and Anthony Monjaro. It has been slated for a special screening at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) ahead of its cinema release later in the month.
