A netizen simply identified as Umar has harshly lashed out at Prince Wale Oluwa, the Secretary of the Oluwa Chieftaincy Family of hypocrisy when he visited the gas explosion sight at Alayabiagba where more than 12 lives were lost. He said coming to a site where people are still mourning because of the calamity that befalls them with so many cameras is a mere jamboree and this shows the height of hypocrisy.
“Some of these pictures have revealed you guys’ hypocrisy. You entered a mourning community with cameras, not two, not three as if the people were celebrating the Egungun festival.
This is one of the problems I have with Mr Wale’s candidacy. Unlike other chairmanship aspirants, he sees everything through the lenses of politics, and it’s awful, disgusting, bad, add yours”, he concluded.
Incidentally, Prince Wale is one of the strongest contenders for the upcoming APC chairmanship primary for Ajeromi-Ifelodun local government in 2025.
As part of his sympathy visit to the community, Prince Wale Oluwa on Friday, paid a courtesy visit to Ba’ale Adeshina Ojora, Ba’ale of Alayabiagba over the gas explosion in the community.
The Chairmanship aspirant who defied the heavy downpour, with his entourage, empathized with Ba’ale Adeshina Ojora Ba’ale of Alayabiagba, over the recent news of the death of 12 persons arising from severe burns from the gas explosion.
Prince Wale Oluwa during the visit commended the efforts of the community leaders led by Ba’ale Adeshina Ojora, in ensuring normalcy after the gas explosion.
He urged residents in the community to take adequate precautions in the use of gas.
In addition, he commended the executive chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, Ayoola Fatai Adekunle, over his administration’s prompt response, and payment of N1 million to cater for the medical expenses of the wounded victims.
Responding Ba’ale Adeshina Ojora empathised with the families of those who lost loved ones in the explosion.
He suggested that the government should introduce licenses for operators of gas cylinders.
The traditional ruler also berated landlords and estate agents who disregarded the dangers associated with the commercialization of gas cylinders in communities across Lagos-Nigeria.
“Anybody who wishes to operate a gas business must undergo training and get licensed thereafter,” he said.
Later Prince Wale Oluwa, together with Ba’ale Adeshina Ojora, and prominent members of the Alayabiagba community which include Alhaji Qudus, Ward A chairman, visited the affected area of the gas explosion.
