Students of the All Nigeria Institute of Homeopathy, Awo Idemili, Imo State, visited the Imo State Library, New Owerri, on an academic research and excursion tour aimed at enhancing their research skills and exposure to digital learning resources.
The exercise, led by the institute’s Dean of Studies, Dr. Ikenna Agubom, was described as a successful outing that offered students firsthand experience with modern library resources and research tools.
During the tour, the Chief Librarian and Director of the Imo State Library, Lolo Onumara Patience A., welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the library’s commitment to academic excellence and digital transformation. She commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for his ongoing efforts to upgrade the facility into a world-class digital library.
A guest at the event, author and publisher Mr. Agubom Kingsley Anosike (Kurious K), described libraries as “treasure houses of knowledge” and emphasized their central role in national development and human progress.
In his remarks, Dr. Agubom who also serves as the Medical Director of Emmanuel Hospital, Orlu praised the state government and the library management for their dedication to educational development. He also called for greater collaboration between the Imo State Government and the All Nigeria Institute of Homeopathy to advance research and innovation in the state.
The Imo State Library, located behind the Imo State House of Assembly Complex in New Owerri, has undergone significant improvements as part of the state’s educational development initiatives. Officials say the ongoing transformation aims to position the facility as one of Africa’s leading centers for digital learning and research.
