The Hills International Church, located at 24 Abeje Street, Ajegunle, has announced plans to celebrate its annual anniversary on Sunday, November 2, 2025, with a blend of spiritual renewal and community support.
According to the church’s General Overseer, Bishop Liberty Iyobosa, the event will serve as both a time of thanksgiving and an avenue to reach out to the less privileged in the community.
“This anniversary is not just about us,” Bishop Iyobosa said. “It is our way of bringing people’s hearts back to God while also extending practical help to those struggling around us. Many cannot feed themselves, so we are committed to providing meals, raw food items, toiletries, and other essentials. Both spiritually and physically, it will be a time of giving.”
For Bishop Liberty , the anniversary is not simply a milestone in the life of the congregation. It is a chance to give back — to feed the hungry, comfort the struggling, and remind the people of God’s love.
According to him, “the story of The Hills International Church is also one of quiet dedication behind the scenes as Pastor Mrs. Winnie Iyobosa, the Assistant General Overseer, has worked faithfully alongside to nurture the growing ministry. The church also expressed deep appreciation to Mrs. Bobo Ataga for her invaluable support toward both the ministry and this year’s anniversary, and to Mr. Adedoyin Adeyinka for his constant love and encouragement over the years”.
The Bishop emphasized that the initiative of the church comes in response to the widespread hardship in the area. “A lot of people are really struggling. That is why we are not limiting this program to prayers alone—we are concerned about people’s wellbeing in every way possible,” he added.
Guests expected at the celebration include prominent Christian leaders such as Mrs. Magdalin Osaze, alongside other notable figures in the faith community.
The church would also extend special invitations to the Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA, Hon Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo who is expected to be the father of the day because he has been magnanimous in his administrative approach in delivering democratic dividends and Hon. Lukman Saad Olumoh, the Lagos State House of Assembly representative of Ajeromi Constituency 01, as guest of honour who has worked his heart for the local government.
Speaking on common criticisms that churches often prioritize financial gain over service, Bishop Eyobosa made it clear that The Hills International Church takes a different approach.
“For me, the work of God is not a means of self-enrichment. We don’t hold programs to raise money or pressure people into giving. God’s work should be about honouring Him and helping others,” he explained. “Whatever blessings God provides us with should be extended to others. That is my vision—bringing smiles to people’s faces and ensuring they feel the touch of God’s love.”
The anniversary, which also marks the start of the church’s spiritual calendar year, will include the unveiling of its 2026 theme. Looking ahead, the church also has plans to expand its outreach programs, including scholarship opportunities for children in the community.
“In our little way, we want to impact families,” Bishop Iyobosa said. “This year, we are starting with food and relief items, but our dream is to extend this to education and other forms of empowerment. The beauty of life is not about how happy you are, but how happy others can be because of you.”
