Hon Luqman Olumoh, who represents Ajeromi Ifelodun Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has been praised by people from his constituency for his unparalleled efforts in attracting another round of state road projects to the Adejiyan and Abdulrasheed streets area of Ifelodun LCDA.
Speakers at the stakeholders meeting signaling the commencement of the long-abandoned road praised the Lawmaker for his proactive representation.
The occasion was a stakeholders’ meeting on the contract awarded for the construction of Adejiyan and Abdulrasheed streets, signaling the job commencement by the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, the Lagos State Government, and the constituents of Ifelodun LCDA.
Hon Olumoh used the occasion to warn residents and street urchins not to harass the contractors for money because he didn’t ask the contractors for any money as well. Rather, his major concern is to ensure that they deliver good road projects to the people of Adejiyan in particular and Ifelodun LCDA residents in general.
“I didn’t collect money from the contractors, so they can do the road well, and the contractors will not give you anything, so do not ask them”, he warned
He regretted that the road had been abandoned for long because” it was taken for granted that the Adejiyan road had been done years back.”
The Lawmaker appealed to the people to be patient because more projects are coming, but emphasized that the state’s priority now is alternative roads. “We are doing alternative roads, and it is being done by the state,” he explained.
Reacting to a question from a resident on why the Badagry express road middle lane didn’t terminate at Alaba for ease of people coming to Ajeromi Ifelodun, Hon Olumoh said, “I took the matter to His Excellency, the Governor, the other day and got to understand that, that was why the exit at Adekeye in Orile was done. This will enable Ajeromi Ifelodun users of the road to exit there and access their area through that point”.
He, however, thanked God that the exit point at Alaba was not constructed because it would have brought hazards and woes to the people. He noted, ” If the exit point had come down at Alaba, lots of houses, schools, and hospitals would have been demolished”.
Hon Olumoh praised the Ifelodun LCDA Chairman, Hon Olufemi Okeowo, whom he said has done well in road infrastructural development, and assured the residents that the Oridilliu Townhall road would be done, and a bridge that would link Ogbewankwo would be constructed to link the two communities.
Amongst the dignitaries at the event were the chairmanship aspirant at the recent primary of the APC, Dr Leye, the outgoing leader of the Ifelodun legislative arm, Hon Fatimoh, other party and community leaders, Bales, and clerics.
