Tension runs high in different camps of the aspirants especially chairmanship in both Ajeromi and Ifelodun following the recent release of the LAISEC guidelines. There has been unusual disquiet in the entire political length and breadth of Ajeromi local government and Ifelodun LCDA as the aspirants await the final party guideline like-whistle indicating the real commencement of the struggle.
In the past few months, the various aspirants had attempted outdoing each other in various forms including consultations, mobilization, social media hypes and other political activities to show that they are on ground, transcending to group agitations and some lily hearted had long dropped their aspirations and a lot more would still drop off depending on how much the party will peg the cost of the form.
A political commentator explained the situation thus; “the situation on the ground has gone out of the local government area and moved to the state and no leader can predict the outcome and that is what the political quietness connotes”
Another leader said, all the various aspirants are done with some noise making and now the real game has started, we expect the party guideline soonest”.
The party guidelines being expected will state when the expression of interest form will start selling, how much the form will sell for, scheduling of the state screening where the various aspirants are expected to disclose their various party activities, how long they’ve been in the party and what each have done for the party and probably their qualifications.
In Ifelodun local Council Development Area, Five other aspirants are contesting to dislodge the incumbent and second term seeking Hon Olufemi Okeowo, whereas in Ajeromi axis where there is a vacancy since the Chairman is serving out his tenure, not less than 12 aspirants are jostling for the one seat.
Already, not too distant past, Justice forum group had conducted their screening where they pruned their aspirants to Four; Olawale Aruna Ariyo aka Megida emerging first, followed by Toyin Amusa, Adio and Noheem Oluwa in that order.
