Community leaders, traditional rulers, and residents of Alayabiagba Community in Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA have resolved to give maximum support to their son, Olamilekan Akindipe aka Lampholder, the chairmanship candidate for Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA in the forthcoming local government election in Lagos State. Akindipe, who is from that part of Ajeromi Ifelodun, will be running under the banner of the All Progressives Congress.
Speaking in an exclusive chat with Lagos Focus News, the Community Development Association Chairman of Alayabiagba, Alhaji Abubakar Musa Afolabi, captured the joy and mood in the Community after their son won the chairmanship primary.
“The entire Alayabiagba Community has planned a thank you visit to APC leaders in the local government for making this dream a reality. We have also structured a mechanism to resolve all our differences and to reciprocate this APC gesture with complete communal support.
“Our Community Alayabiagba will give our entire support to APC, even PDP and other opposition party members in our community are on their way to APC because of Lampholder’s candidacy.
“We have reached out through him to other aspirants from our community, and I can assure you, the community is calm and peaceful, as you can see. Nobody is antagonizing the other, and very soon, our community leaders will bring all the other aspirants together
He said, Olamilekan has supported many people, so when they call him Lampholder, it describes his dark complexion and usefulness. The name, according to him, came over 27 years ago because of his dark complexion and his great works, which shine as he touches the lives of his less privileged peers. He described Akindipe as a man with a good heart who has been helpful to society.
OlamiLekan Akindipe is a highly resourceful and intelligent person who speaks Dutch and Portuguese very fluently, though he may not have visited any of those countries. He is very much endowed financially and helps people without blowing his trumpet.
Afolabi continued.”The ticket for Chairmanship he got is truly a reward from God because he has really helped people, and he never segregates. He is one of the major financiers of Progressive Souls of Nigeria, PSN, a frontline organization that reaches out to the orphanage and the less privileged.
He has raised and assisted people from the background. He played a major role in the emergence of the outgoing Ward A councilor, who made the councilor fly in from the United States of America to support Lampholder’s struggle for the chairmanship
“We pray God helps him do remarkable things for Ajeromi as chairman because his emergence is one of the things our community has been yearning for, and we thank God it is happening in our lifetime.
“On my own, as the CDA chairman, I want to advise Olamilekan not to change from who he has been. He should have his eyes always on the ball, he should avoid sycophants and fifth columnists. We will continue to pray for him to succeed in the office”, he concluded.
