The Executive Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government in Lagos, Hon. Olu OlalekanAkindipe, has charged newly appointed Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers in the council to demonstrate commitment, integrity, and dedication in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Speaking following the announcement of the appointments, Akindipe said the new officials must see their positions as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to grassroots development and improved service delivery for residents of the local government.
According to the chairman, the appointments represent both recognition of the appointees’ abilities and a call to serve the people with diligence and accountability. He urged them to work collaboratively to advance the council’s development agenda and strengthen governance at the grassroots.
Akindipe also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his continued support for local government administration and efforts aimed at enhancing participatory governance across the state.
He noted that the new officials are expected to play key roles in implementing policies and programmes that will improve the welfare of residents and sustain ongoing development initiatives in the council.
Those appointed include the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Noheem A. Oluwa; Supervisor for Works, Hon. Kayode Alebiosu; Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Hon. Badmus Suliat; Supervisor for Health, Hon. Kehinde Arogundade; and Supervisor for Agriculture, Hon. Lukmon Jimoh.
Others are Special Adviser on Youth and Sports, Hon. Biola Adedeji Oluwa; Supervisor for Environment, Mrs. Bola Ugbo Anite; Supervisor for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Hon. Nurudeen Qudus; and Supervisor for Information, Hon. Ali Yahaya.
Also appointed are Special Adviser on Legal Matters, Hon. Emeka Anayochukwu; Supervisor for Budget, Hon. Sunday Olusanya; Supervisor for Education, Hon. Ajayi Oluwakemi; and Special Adviser on Revenue Matters and Civic Engagement, Hon. Taiwo Ishola.
The list further includes Supervisor for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Ojora Saheed; Special Adviser on Trade and Investments, Hon. Oyeleke Samson; Special Adviser on Transport, Hon. Kareem Ismail Mayaki; and Special Adviser on Social Welfare, Hon. Temitope Amudalat Olola.
Others are Special Adviser on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Theresa Jegede; Special Adviser on Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relationships, Hon. Olushina Adeyemi; Special Adviser on Legislative Matters, Hon. Tunde Aroyehun; and Special Adviser on Works, Hon. Afolabi Azeez Oluwatoyin.
Akindipe urged the appointees to remain focused on delivering effective governance and working in the collective interest of the people of Ajeromi-Ifelodun.
