Luxury interior designer and socialite Ehizogie Ogbebor has opened up about the turbulent experience surrounding her marriage to Warri-based oil mogul, Ken Bramor, revealing that she knew just three days after their wedding that she might have made the wrong decision.
Ogbebor made the revelation while speaking with media personality Chude Jideonwo on the WithChude podcast, where she reflected on the doubts, uncertainty, and difficult moments that eventually brought the marriage to an end.
According to the entrepreneur, something suddenly changed in her perception of the marriage almost immediately after the wedding, leaving her questioning whether she had made the right choice.
She said the feeling was so sudden that it was almost as though “something cleared from my eyes.”
“I told him, sorry, sorry, I don’t think I want to marry you. I swear to God.”
Ogbebor said she has never been convinced by suggestions that her experience could have been linked to African voodoo or juju. However, she admitted that the circumstances surrounding the marriage left her deeply uncertain.
“I don’t know what it is, or what it was. But I know three days after, I can never forget. And I’m like, ‘No, I don’t know if I wanted to marry you,’” she recalled.
She further described the relationship as one in which she struggled with uncertainty and what she characterised as her husband’s controlling nature.
The businesswoman revealed that she left the marriage more than once, including during her pregnancy, suggesting that the challenges within the relationship persisted despite efforts to make it work.
According to her, her ex-husband would sometimes tell her to let her family believe she was living abroad.
“He would tell me, like, ‘Let your family take it that you live abroad,’” she recounted.
Ogbebor’s account offers a deeply personal glimpse into a marriage that, despite the public attention surrounding it, was reportedly fraught with private doubts and challenges from its earliest days.
Her revelation has also reignited conversations about the complexities that can exist behind high-profile marriages, where the glamour surrounding the union may tell only part of the story.
