Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Uriel Oputa, has hit back at critics who have taken issue with her fashion choices, telling them to pay more attention to their health and personal lives than what she wears.
The wellness food specialist, who appears unfazed by the criticism surrounding her outfits, said she would continue to dress in whatever makes her comfortable while remaining committed to her health and wellness journey.
Uriel, in a pointed message to her female critics, suggested that some of those judging her fashion sense might benefit more from adopting her health and wellness routine.
According to the reality TV star, her mother’s experience with high blood pressure and stroke served as a painful wake-up call and taught her to take her own health seriously.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Uriel said she had no interest in unsolicited opinions about her appearance.
“I could not give a hoot about what some of you ladies think about how I dress. Judging by some of your profiles, some of you actually need my routine, not my outfit.
“Secondly, at this age, my mother had high blood pressure. She had a stroke. I don’t have either of those things, and for me, that is a WIN.
“If you follow me, you’ve seen my mum and you’ve seen what she went through because of her health. So please, I beg you, do not give me unsolicited health or lifestyle advice. I know exactly why I take my health seriously.
“I will wear what I want. I will look how I want. And I will continue taking care of myself,” she concluded.
Uriel’s response has since added another layer to the conversation around celebrity fashion, body confidence and the growing pressure on public figures to conform to expectations about how they should look.
