CORRECTION AND APOLOGY: Lagos Focus News Clarifies Report on Hon. Rita Orji’s APM Convention Role

Lagos Focus News wishes to correct and apologise for an error in our report published on August 13, 2026, titled “Rita Orji Emerges APM Ex-Officio as Dantalle Retains Chairmanship.”

Following the emergence of a video clip from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) National Convention in Bauchi, showing Hon. Rita Orji being called upon and urged to swear in as the National Leader of the party, we acknowledge that our earlier report incorrectly stated that she had emerged as an Ex-Officio member of the APM.

Our initial report was based on information available to us at the time and was published in good faith. However, subsequent visual evidence from the convention has prompted us to review the report and recognise that the description of Hon. Rita Orji’s position was inaccurate.

Lagos Focus News therefore unreservedly withdraws the assertion that Hon. Rita Orji emerged as an Ex-Officio member of the APM and apologises to Hon. Rita Orji, the leadership and members of the Allied Peoples Movement, as well as our readers, for the error.

We regret any embarrassment, confusion or misunderstanding the report may have caused, particularly regarding Hon. Orji’s actual role and status within the party.

As a media organisation committed to accuracy, fairness and responsible journalism, we take responsibility for the error and have taken steps to correct the publication accordingly.

We appreciate the clarification provided by the video evidence and reaffirm our commitment to verifying information, especially concerning political developments and the activities of political parties.

Lagos Focus News sincerely apologises to Hon. Rita Orji and all affected parties.
