Popular Nollywood actress and Lagos State Food Bank Ambassador, Kate Henshaw, marked her 55th birthday by putting smiles on the faces of vulnerable widows and their families through a humanitarian outreach in Lagos.
Rather than hosting an elaborate celebration, the actress chose to commemorate the milestone by extending support to widows through the Lagos State Food Bank’s Temporary Food Assistance Programme (TEFAP), aimed at providing food relief to economically disadvantaged households in underserved communities.
Joined by friends and well-wishers, Henshaw visited the Lagos State Food Bank warehouse, where food items were distributed to beneficiaries as part of efforts to ease the burden of rising living costs and improve food security among vulnerable families.

The outreach was filled with emotion as beneficiaries expressed gratitude through smiles, warm embraces and heartfelt prayers, highlighting the impact of the intervention on their daily lives.
Speaking through her actions, Henshaw reaffirmed her commitment to using her platform to support humanitarian causes and inspire others to give back to society.
The Lagos State Food Bank described the initiative as a reflection of compassion and selfless service, noting that Henshaw’s decision to celebrate her birthday by reaching out to widows exemplifies the spirit of kindness and community support.
As one of the Food Bank’s ambassadors, the award-winning actress has consistently championed initiatives aimed at tackling hunger and improving the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians, making her 55th birthday not only a personal milestone but also an opportunity to bring hope, dignity and food security to those who need it most.
