Former Labour Party House of Reps aspirant and ADC Chieftain in Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Emilia Ezeude, has expressed sympathy to families affected by the electrocution incident that claimed a live and injured several others in the area on Saturday.
In a statement issued from her office, Dr. Ezeude described the tragedy as a painful reminder of the urgent need for proactive safety measures to safeguard lives within communities.
“This painful incident is a stark reminder of the urgent need for proactive safety measures to protect lives within our communities,” she said.
Dr. Ezeude however commended the swift response of Hon. Olalekan Olu Akindipe, Executive Chairman of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area, who was the first public official at the scene. She noted that his immediate presence and support for residents in their moment of distress reflected “true leadership in times of crisis.”
Calling for preventive action, she urged relevant agencies to step up routine inspections, ensure timely maintenance, and establish effective rapid response mechanisms to avert a recurrence of such tragedies.
“Authorities must rise to their responsibility by ensuring routine checks, timely maintenance, and rapid response mechanisms to prevent such devastating occurrences in the future,” Dr. Ezeude stressed.
She concluded by praying that God heals the several others that were injured and for the repose of the victim that was lost and for strength for the affected families.
