Hon Lukman Saad Olumoh and Prince Sabur Rabiu Oluwa, members representing Ajeromi Ifelodun Constituencies 1 and 11, at the Lagos State House of Assembly, have appealed to members of their constituencies for understanding with the contractors handling the Ojo road expansion.
“Do not bother the contractors for anything, whatever you need to understand, we are here, contact us, we will explain that to you “, they appealed.
In the meantime, the honorables have engaged the community leaders and other stakeholders on the construction and dualization of the road. The long-awaited dualization of the road is set to officially commence, marking a significant milestone in the development of Ajeromi-Ifelodun infrastructure, and the road, which is an essential link between the two constituencies, will wear a new look soon.
According to the project coordinator, Engr. O.B. Williams: “We are here to rejoice with the people of Ajeromi Ifelodun local government, and we want to thank Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the project. As a big project, the road construction will affect some shops and buildings, but we need to cooperate with the workers. The dualization of this major road is part of the broader effort to modernize and expand the constituencies’ infrastructure to meet the demands of a growing population and economy.
Construction duration is 18 months, and the contractor is China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, she added.
The project, once completed, will enhance connectivity, stimulate economic activity, and improve safety. The roadwork will include the construction of new lanes, expansion of the current road network, and the creation of additional features like demarcation and drainage systems. These upgrades aim to provide a more modern and efficient transportation route that will benefit residents, business owners, and visitors.
However, the people have been advised to use alternative routes like Abeje, Tony Eradire, Adekeye, through to Bale Aiyetoro to Boundary during the construction.
As with any large-scale development project, there are bound to be challenges, particularly. Affected property and business owners were asked to make sacrifices because while the construction may cause temporary inconveniences, the long-term benefits are expected to far outweigh these challenges.
The road dualization project is a testament to the dedication of the constituents’ representatives to improving the lives of their constituents and to also ensure the continued growth and prosperity of the constituency.
The Olu of Iwa & Apapa Kingdom, Senatorial leader Prince Rabiu Adio Oluwa, Hon.Taiwo Adenekan, community leaders, religious leaders, artisans, and other stakeholders have all commended the facilitators for this giant project.
