Legendary Nigerian songstress Onyeka Onwenu was finally laid to rest in Lagos, Nigeria amidst tears.
A quiet funeral service was held earlier today at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos, followed by a private burial at a vault in Ikoyi.
Present to bid farewell to the iconic musician was the Labour Party Presidential candidate in the last election, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, and His Excellency Governor Alex Otti of Abia State amongst others.
Onwenu passed away a few weeks ago after she slumped during a birthday party in Lagos, briefly after performing at the gig in honor of Dr Stella Okoli of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
Her death on July 30th shocked the country as the late Onyeka Onwenu was not just a singer but a broadcaster, consummate actor, politician, and activist.
