The Amukoko Central Mosque, located in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State, recently held its Islamic turbaning, award presentation, and fundraising ceremony, declaring that they need thirty Million Naira to put the Mosque in good shape and sand fill the Eid Praying ground.
According to the organizers of the event, the reasons for holding this year’s event was to officially turban the new Chief Imam of the Central Mosque, Fadeelat Sheikh Issa Muhammed Bolajoko, present awards to some notable Muslims and notable philanthropists in the community and most importantly, to raise funds to renovate the mosque and sand fill the Eid Praying ground to avoid the usual flooding experienced there during rainy seasons.
About 16 illustrious sons and daughters were turbaned different Adinnis. In addition, 18 others were honoured with Awards in the two-day event. Amongst the turbanees include: the former council Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA, Alhaji Fatai Shuaib Ajidagba who was turbaned Baba Adini of Amukoko Central Mosque, the popular Islamic Cleric Subhanallah Shamashad was turbaned the Jagunmolu Adini, the Iya Adini of the Central Mosque is Alhaja Kuburat Hamad and the former Supervisory Councilor and Special Adviser on Education to the Ifelodun Council Alhaji, Hon Abdul-Fatai Ibn Hamzat was turbaned as the Olori Giwa Adinni of the Central Mosque.
Some of the award recipients include: CSP Maliki Ibrahim, the Divisional Police Officer of Pako Police Station, the Medical Director of Success Hospital Dr Ridwan Akingboola Olamilekan, and the Legislative Leader of Ifelodun Council, Fatimat Tinuke Salaudeen among others
