2025 Ajeromi local government elections: Meet the potential and aspiring Ward A Councilors

This is the enclave of the Ajegunle l’ekan agitators. All the aspirants that have shown interest are good to go, they are qualified by all standards but it is the area that some of them are staying in that may be the issue, That’s if the leadership decides to zone it to a particular area, which may come as a disadvantage to some qualified persons. However, whatever the situation, they should just be patient because time is still on the side for some of them. They should understand that there is time for everything and everyone.

The winner would be as a result of leadership advantage and the leaders are Alhaji Garba whose son has taken turn, Hon Abdulbaqi Ladi Balogun who is said to have a favourable, Hon Rita Bawo, Chief Elegunde Winiwini, Alhaji  Toyin Amusa and others. Would the impending battle between the Mandate group and Justice Forum be extended here, most certainly because some of the leading aspirants belong differently to these groups?

We shall take a look at the profiles of some of these politicians aspiring for the exalted positions of Councilors

Isiaka Moshood Abiodun is from Ogbenwankwo axis. He is described as a loyal party member who is seen in party meetings regularly. An easygoing person, he is also described as cool-headed and qualified to contest.

He visited the ward leadership to seek their support and they prayed for him. If God says he is going to be, he will be according to a community leader because he is a cool-headed guy.

Kayode, popularly known as Kayo wa, is also a young man from the same Ogbewankwo axis. He’s described to be new in politics but has the clout to make an impact. He can mobilize people and also win a lot of political bigwigs to his side. He has promised not to disappoint his people if he wins the party’s ticket. He is also a cool-headed guy, a family man, and also a landlord.

Taiwo Ishola has been in the system for long. He is a politician from the Justice Forum, Ward A, where he is the chairman but Alayabiagba Ward A looks like the beehive of the Mandate group. He has a strong chance though his location may be another setback because Alayabiagba has dominated the position for too long. He is experienced, he has been working with the leadership and has the chance unless it is decided that the seat will not be zoned to Alayabiagba.

Bashir Afolabi, Omoadugbuo, is a clever, popular, and smart politician who came from the other party to join the progressives. He has been doing well since he joined the Progressives and has also been running numerous Chairmanship programs that are of huge benefit to the people. The people believe he will continue with his good works if he becomes the Councilor.

Though he is of Alayabiagba stock but recently relocated and he now wants to emerge from the Akatapo area of the Okorogbo axis maybe because he feels Okorogbo is the next in turn.

Akeem Fatugashe; is the ‘honorable’ from the Okorogbo axis and also a party man. This is not his first time aspiring as he had stepped down for others many times. He has been a strong pillar for others and a lot of people believe that it’s now his time to get the necessary backing from other politicians; Fatugashe has a strong backer if it comes to money terms.

Akeem Usman aka Agubaniran is a known politician but the issue may be where he resides.  He was at Alayabiagba before when Hon Abu was alive but he moved. He was trained politically in Alayabiagba and he is a graduate like all other aspirants. He is said to be good and his political camp is in Alayabiagba even though he has moved. He is however a good aspirant and a philanthropist.

Akeem Sule is in the POS business and is a major contender. Popularly known as Akeem Enulebor, he is the aspirant to watch out for. He has the charisma and leadership qualities and has informed the party hierarchy of his aspirations.

Kudus has been the chairman of his ward for almost 12 years. He has a father who has been solidly behind him in Ajeromi politics. A lot of Ajeromi politicians believe he has his father’s good spirit and political in-depth, vigorously hard working and a thorough political administrator like his father. A lot of people agree that he is a good aspirant and also on the leadership side.

Godday Akor’s name is being mentioned as an aspirant but many especially the leadership said, he is yet to inform them that he wants to be a councilor. He stays at Okorogbo axis and might get consideration because of his father, who many consider to be a nice man. His father is a politician and Godday too is a politician but is seen by many as not consistent. Within the community, he has charisma but in the political sphere, he doesn’t have much influence.

Yusuf Saka aka dejonwo, is the son of one of the leaders and is said to be good. His father shares the same semblance with Nurudeen Kudus’ father. He has the charisma and is suitable to represent the ward. The last time he contested, he had massive support due to his personality and the father’s factor. He was said to have almost gone outstage the incumbent’s second term return if not for instruction from the leadership to return both the Chairman and the Councilors for their second term. Let’s watch out for him this time around. He is also from Alayabiagba axis.
